Community Giving
Sarah B. Fine Stationery is dedicated to improving the lives of others in the community in which we live. We support non-profit organizations that address the following issues: literacy and education; suicide prevention; public health education and prevention; and poverty, hunger and homelessness. We are unable to donate to for-profit companies, including employee appreciation events.
If your non-profit organization is seeking a donation of an auction item or monetary contribution, please send a written request on your organization’s letterhead with the following information:
1. Your organization's name, address, telephone number, contact person and tax id number.
2. Date, location and purpose of event.
3. How the donation will benefit the charitable organization.
4. Items, including the desired value or dollar amount being requested.
5. Deadline items are needed.
6. If you are a regular customer of ours, please let us know.
Due to the number of requests received for donations, we limit our support to the Madison area and immediate surrounding areas and will contact you if we are able to assist you.
Sarah B. Fine Stationery is a family owned, busy, stationery store searching for friendly, and eager people interested in becoming a part of our enduring and growing team.
Are you a detail-oriented, self-motivated, dependable, customer service-oriented, team player with great handwriting? And do you see fashion in all things beautiful? If you are and do, then we’d love to hear from you!
This is a part-time sales associate and personalized consultant position. Must be available to work evenings and some weekends. An enthusiastic attitude is essential. Experience in a retail paper/stationery store is highly desirable. Generous employee discount provided. Salary commensurate with experience. This is a long-term position for the right person. Please email resume and letter of interest to Jan and Renee at sbfs1@mac.com
The Environment & Buying Local
Madison is a city that supports recycling and energy conservation, and we try to reflect that in our business. Whenever possible, we reuse and recycle paper and cardboard, use compact florescent lightbulbs and keep the thermostat at a moderate temperature.
While we’d love to say that all our stationery is made of recycled paper, the reality is that it’s not. However, we carry a large number of companies that use 100% cotton paper. Crane & Co., for instance, uses 100% reclaimed cotton for its paper, remnants from the garment industry that would have otherwise gone into landfill. Likewise, all our letterpress companies, from B Design to Oblation Papers and Press to Elum use 100% luxurious cotton paper.
We are proud to announce that very recently we added a new line of cards from Positively Green by Compendium and invitation papers from the Green Paper Company, which uses from 30% to 100% post-consumer recycled paper.
Sarah B. Fine Stationery also supports local businesses and items made in America, partly as an effort to provide unique products, to be green and partly to support local economies with American-made products, thereby creating and maintaining jobs. It is becoming increasingly difficult to accomplish any of these goals. While we do carry a number of fabulous products from Europe and other parts of the world, we strive to find cards, stationery and other items made with exceptional quality in the States. If shopping online, you will see that denoted within the product description.
We thank you for sharing our concerns for the environment!

Artwork
Love Letters Logos: www.loveletterslogos.com Today, most everyone wants something that differentiates them from the next person, so many couples are turning to artwork that distinguishes their invitations from friends' they've seen in the past. However, trying to do so can often be problematic when trying to use the artwork for different items to tie the wedding together since different vendors have different file requirements. Love Letters Logos allows you to create your own logos, thereby coordinating the theme of your wedding by providing you with different file formats for the logo you've created and can then use with the many vendors out there. Please keep in mind that you will need to check with your retailer before you place an order to ensure you have the correct file format.
